How to import a car from Oman to UAE

- * For the vehicle export form you have to head over to ghubra on sultan Qaboos road. You can park any where outside the typing center where you will ask to type the form in Arabic.
- * The form in printers electronically with them they will fill and print its copies. The cost of this form is RO 1.
- * Another important document required is passport and car mulkiya that is provided to each car owner.
- * On the vehicle export form there is a space for the insurance details so you have to leave this space for the insurance people.
- * Once you have typed the form then you should leave to your insurance company and you will inform that you want to export your car and tell them to fill the form.
- * The insurance company will then give you a 10 days time period to export your car with in this period so you should take Care of the time while exporting the car don’t be late because you have to register in Abu Dhabi also.
- * Once you have cleared the insurance part now you have to drive to the ROP office and then go to the inspection area where your car will be inspected.
- * When you enter the inspection area you will find that the inspection area is divided into three sections:
- * Heavy vehicle
- * Light vehicles
- * Accident inspection
You have to queue up in the line of your vehicle and then wait for your turn the officers will check the details in vehicle export form the engine number that it match the car or not.
- * Once all the inspection is done then the officer will fill the form and hand over it to you.
- * Now this form is to taken to the main ROP and show all the documents to the officer on the last desk they will examin it and stamp over it.
- * At the reception you will receive a number to process your car export.
- * The next step is to remove your license plate from your car if you can no do this by yourself then there are guys to help you and will remove the plate for you.
- * Then you will go to section A with your number plate and all the documents.
- * When your number is called you have to go and hand over the documents to the officer he will ask for confirmation that who is the person on the mulkiya card and also the resident card.
- * The officer will then fill in the form details and will ask for the old number plate that they will keep with them and you will be given a blue number plate that is export number plate.
- * For this purpose the officer will ask a fee of RO 9.500 and keep in mind that they accept card not cash.
- * So also don’t forget to get your credit it debit card with you because there may ba a problem at payment time.
- * After that you will go to the reception and here you will be given a export certificate that will need you to enter your personal information such as address and phone number etc.
- * Once your payment is done then at desk 5 you will be given a export certificate that you can use to export a car at various points.
- * Then you have to take all the documents and the new plate your car drive it to the license fixing area where they will fix the new license plate to your car and giving you the permission to export your car.
- * The total cost to spent will be RO 14.500 and a lot of time to be spent because if you start from 9:00 and finished and it will be finished at 2:00.
* Documents required at ROP:
- Car Mulkiya is required in this regard as we have mentioned above.
- Passport will be needed valid for at least 6 months.
- Resident Card copy that is obvious.
- Debit/Credit Card is needed because no cash is accepted.
